About the web Mistress
Name; Ruuka About Blissful Skies I've gone through a lot before Blissful Skies was born. It was like a step-to-step thing. I started off doodling in Paint and creating those cheap designs; I had fun though. Slowly, I started moving on to an Animation program called something like.. Ulead GIF Animator. Although it was originally for small animation files, I use it for both, even bigger designs. - rolls eyes - It wasn't bad actually, the program was a big help to my graphics. But where did I show my graphics, you ask? I posted them on Neopets actually: Guilds, user pages, shops, etc. Believe it or not.. I was a really big fan of Neopets; I used to go on it like.. 24/7. The guild I used to have on there was called "Starry Anime Night", what a name! xD People used to like my graphics back then, although they're not as good as today, but that's how I continued moving on graphic design and such. =) But what made me go into Web Designing? My eldest sister built a website of her own long ago, and I even watched making the pages, links and all that stuff. She would always put cute animated backgrounds on each page, and that's how I got influenced. Back then I didn't have internet, so I would just fool around with Microsoft Frontpage and without it I would die. xP As time passes by, I finally got internet, and that's how it all really started. Building websites and graphics and post them all on Neopets. But then.. One day, I discovered a program called Photoshop; a very popular graphic designing program. I downloaded the trial, and started using it. When it expires, I would just download different versions of it over and over again, until I can't find a way to get it for free. But one lucky day, my previous host, Mercury, was nice enough to host my website AND give me the full version of Adobe Photoshop CS for free. I just didn't know how to thank him! Thank you so much, Mercury. =) Even if we don't talk anymore, he's still a life-saver. Things developed very quick, and my skills sure improved. My first site was Blinking Starx (odd name again), originally from Geocities to Project-Myu.net (Mercury's domain). [ I don't think it's there anymore, but it's still a nice memory. ] I started to feel that my URL's a bit too long and may be hard for some visitors to easily remember it (also wanted to change a new name), so I decided to find a new host. Mercury wasn't really happy, and we went into some argument. After that, I found a new hostess, Misaki (EndlessHope.net). The domain name is nice, and so is she. So I decided to move my site there, and also change my site name to Blissful Skies. It took a while for me to put up Blissful Skies, though. Actually, a very long time. I was busy, and when I wasn't, I felt lazy. While Blissful Skies was still sleeping, I was working on graphic designing on Kamilla's site to keep up my "skills". But finally after one whole year when I got my spirits up, I decided to work on Blissful Skies again. Once again, I was influenced by those beautiful graphic sites out there. I'm really glad I can open my site up again! Many thanks to Mercury for being my first host, Misaki for being an extremely patient hostess (and not kick me out!), my friends and family for encouraging me (although my parents think graphic/web designing is like a "game" x_x), and of course, my visitors. =) My first site (Blinking Starx) was born around December 2005, and my current site (Blissful Skies) was born on December 31st 2006. |
